Hi I’m Leonora and I’m the owner/creator of Crafty Templates. I started making card templates in 2005 as a simple way for people to make creative/interesting cards. I love being creative and have spend a huge chunk of my life studying art and design earning myself a (BAHons) degree in fine art painting and printmaking along the way. I’ve also studied fashion design and illustration, which I guess is where the template creating came in as it’s much like creating a pattern that in turn creates a design!
So that’s me, how about a bit about Crafty Templates...
So as an experienced crafter myself I know how frustrating it is to want to spend a spare half hour crafting and end up getting nothing made as you can’t think what to do or you know what you want to make but sometimes it doesn’t quite turn out how you imagined! It’s also difficult to keep thinking of different ideas when you’re selling your cards to keep designs fresh and exciting or just to offer something different to entice your customers. With Crafty Templates I’m aiming to offer a friendly helping hand with your paper crafting. You download a Crafty template and away you go, you can be creative with them and come up with your own card design or you can use the instructions provided.
As well as the templates I also put together crafting kits full of materials like paper, cardstock and materials ready co-ordinated for you to paper craft with. I have a passion for putting together more unusual kits and this is especially evident with the ‘Quirky kits’ you can find on the site.
One thing I have tried to develop over 2009 and will continue into 2010 is to try and make the packaging I use for the kits recyclable or reusable. If you can’t recycle the packaging lots of it is pretty enough to reuse on your craft projects so do try and think of using it before throwing it away.
